Sindh Revenue Board

The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) collected Rs16.02 billion in sales tax in August 2023, a 36% increase from the same month last year. This is the highest monthly collection by the SRB in a single month.

The SRB attributed the increase in collection to a number of factors, including the continued trust and cooperation of taxpayers, the support of the Sindh government, and the relentless efforts of the SRB officers.

The board is focused on achieving its ambitious revenue collection target of Rs235 billion for 2023-24. However, there are still some challenges that need to be addressed.

One challenge is the smuggling of goods and services, which deprives the government of tax revenue. The SRB is working with law enforcement agencies to crack down on smuggling.

Another challenge is the under-invoicing of imports, which also results in revenue losses. The SRB is working with customs authorities to address this issue.

Despite these challenges, the SRB is confident that it can achieve its revenue collection target for 2023-24. The board is committed to providing taxpayers with a fair and efficient tax system.
